AIS (Australian Intercultural Society) has been active in scheduling activities to unite different faith
groups as part of interfaith dialogue since its initial establishment. AIS is yet to start a new project.
The new project is comprised of vegetarian cuisine based foods and is named “Taste of Harmony
Cooking Demonstration". Groups involved in undertaking this project will include: AIS Women's
Network, Drum Dharma Mountain as part of the Buddhist group and Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi
Foundation. This project will commence on Saturday, 10th of March 2012. The program will continue for
a period of 8 months and the initial opening will be made with Chinese Vegetarian Cuisine. Within the 8
month period, both the Chinese and Turkish Vegetarian cuisine will each present their cookings 4 times.
The prepared food will be presented to individuals from amongst different cultures and religions.
The vegetarian cuisine program will be held at Koonara Hall 7 Balwyn Rd, Buleen, and every second
Saturday of the month between 11:30-14:00. Individuals from varying cultural and religious backgrounds
are most welcome to attend. An initial booking and a $5 fee is required to participate in this program.
